Computer Steps: 

*These steps MUST be done on a computer or tablet. You will need to scan a QR code with your mobile device in later steps**


Begin by opening an incognito browser window (for Chrome CTRL+Shift_N, for Safari Command+Shift+N, For Internet Explorer CTRL+Shift+N) - Sometimes this does not work, so you would need to access an incognito or private browsing window within your default browser. 

 


Navigate to M365.newmanu.edu


Login using your Newman email address (ex. [email protected]).


Use the password displayed in the body of your message, or the temporary password provided to you.

If correct, a screen mentioning “More information required” will display, select Next (shown below).


Follow next steps for new user information until a QR code appears.

** STOP HERE AND BE SURE TO FOLLOW NEXT STEPS CLOSELY!!**



If you have not already, download the Microsoft Authenticator app to your device, as you will be prompted to do so. 

Once downloaded, proceed to the next screen on your computer.

ON YOUR PHONE: Open Microsoft Authenticator and agree to all permissions

Select “Add School or Work Account”, then select “Scan QR Code”.


** If asked for a LOGIN, returnt to the first screen in the authenticator app and try again. This should prompt the option to scan a QR code, which appears in #3 below. Scanning the QR code is the only supported authentication setup**

Scan the QR code from the computer screen with your mobile phone

If successful, move forward with continued options and allow permissions. This will grant access to your Authenticator app which will allow for setup and future use. 


You will be REQUIRED to enter a two-digit security code from your authenticator app on the webpage. 

THIS IS A TIME SENSATIVE TASK.

Be sure to promptly enter the code in the field and select "next" on both screens to proceed.

Proceed until you are prompted to update your password. Remember: Your temporary password is listed on your email. Your new password should be at least 9 characters long with lowercase, uppercase, AND one number OR special character. This password must be new and have not been previously used, such as your temporary password. This is done on your computer. 



If desired, select "Stay Signed-In' for easier future access. 


Once reset, you will see several pop-up windows for new account tips. 

Please close out of these windows to proceed to your Microsoft Welcome page.

On the left-hand side, you will select “Apps” and then “Outlook”

At this time, you will be redirected to your email inbox and all set to access your outlook account!
