To take courses at Newman, you will need the following technology and skills: 

Technology:

  • Modern PC or Mac (desktop or laptop) with high-speed Internet. 

  • Webcam and microphone capable of video-conferencing. 
    (Most courses using online exams will require a webcam and microphone.)

  • Microsoft Office and Google Docs

  • Browsers: Google Chrome is preferred, Microsoft Edge, Safari, or Firefox are also OK. Internet Explorer is not supported.

  • Additional software or equipment may be required by your instructor. These will be specified when you enroll.

  • Android and iOS devices along with Chromebooks can be used in Canvas. Microsoft Office Suite of desktop applications are not available for Chromebook or Windows S Mode devices.

  • Windows 10 goes end-of-support on October 14, 2025.

  • Please note that Windows devices powered by Snapdragon X ARM architecture processers are not supported by Papercut for printing from your own device.
